Musicals and Towers and Castles, oh my!

This week started off with a showing of Billy Elliot on Monday evening.

It was a really interesting play and all of the people in it did a great job. And it was lots of fun!

Tuesday we visited the Tower of London.

It is an old castle where many people were imprisoned and then excuted on Tower Hill. There was lots of history and it was very interesting to learn about the Tower. We also got to see the Crown Jewels that are displayed in the building above, as well as visit the old armory, White Tower, pictured below.

After we walked through the Crown Jewels and White Tower, we visited Bloody tower and the Castle Wall Walk, which provided a spectacular view of Tower Bridge:

It was lots of fun, and Little Boom even got his picture taken with a Dragon!

After visiting the Tower of London, we headed to class and to our First Econ test. After class, I headed down Holborn to visit the United Grand Lodge of England's building, called Freemason's Hall:

I was able to go in and wander around, but they were already closed for the day so I got the information to come back for a tour (I'm going on the 16th!) and got a couple of Post cards. It looks like a spectacular building, and it has over 20 lodge rooms!

Wednesday we visited Hampton Court, a palace once occupied by Henry VIII. It was a gorgeous palace and we spent a good 3 or 4 hours wandering the palace and its gorgeous gardens.

Several other Monarchs also lived here, and so it was both a tudor castle and had add-ons from different periods. It also had a whole collection of Royal Beds and information on them that was really interesting and they were all super gorgeous. I loved the gardens the most though, they were so amazing.

It was an awesome tour and we all had lots of fun. I would love to come back some day because it was so cool- and Little Boom liked it too!

Well, until next time! Tomorrow we have our first day in Paris and I will definetely be posting about all our adventures from that tomorrow night! We catch the Eurostar at 7 tonight and get in at 10 or so, and it should be lots of fun. :)
